Quality Manager (Safran Aerospace Composites – Rochester)
Professional, Engineer & Manager
Develop, implement, and coordinate product assurance program to prevent or eliminate problems and prevent risks in new or existing products. Analyze, evaluate, and present information concerning factors such as business situations, production capabilities, manufacturing problems, and design and development of new products for consideration by other members of management team. Participate in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures and goals. Review technical problems and procedures of departments and recommend solutions to problems or changes in procedures. Confer with representatives of material and component vendors to obtain information related to supply quality and vendor quality standards. Confer with engineers regarding quality assurance of new products designed, and manufactured products currently in the marketplace, to rectify problems. Perform functions of AS9100 Management Representative: ensure that processes needed for the Quality Management System are established, implemented, and maintained, report on the performance of the Quality Management System, ensure the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization. Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental regulatory requirements.
Requires a Bachelor's degree or higher (or foreign equivalent) in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience in mechanical design and manufacturing engineering in the aerospace industry.
All stated experience must include:
- - Leading cross-functional teams which requires a high level of understanding of: mechanics, aerodynamics and acoustics;
- - Designing and manufacturing aeronautical rotating composite parts; and
- - Advanced experience in Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
3 years of stated or other experience must include Quality Assurance and Quality Control in an aerospace environment.
Must be available to travel domestically and internationally 15% of working time
Must be available for “On Call” duty
